The National Sustainable Land Empowerment & Chiefdom Development Programme (NSLE&CDP) is We Are The World Zambia's flagship land-based initiative — a bold partnership model that places Traditional Leadership and local communities at the centre of agricultural transformation.
Instead of extracting resources from rural areas, we build complete value systems on customary land: production, processing, packaging, markets, trade and reinvestment — so that every hectare works for the people who have stewarded it for generations.
Within each participating chiefdom, up to 2,000 hectares are developed as one integrated economic ecosystem — where what is grown is processed locally, packaged under local brands, sold into real markets, traded across borders, and reinvested into the community that made it possible.

Zambia's youth are its largest and most restless resource. The land economy offers them machines, data, markets and ownership — not just hoes.
Remove any single element and the equation fails. Land without skills stays idle. Skills without capital stay dreams. Capital without markets flees. NSLE&CDP exists to supply all four — together, deliberately, for women and youth first.
We state this plainly: We Are The World Zambia does not claim ownership of any customary land. All land remains under the lawful authority of its Traditional Leadership and the people of the chiefdom unless — and only unless — rights are formally and legally documented through proper customary and statutory processes. Any suggestion otherwise misrepresents this programme.
No activity begins before genuine consultation with the chief, councillors and every affected village — in local language, with full disclosure.
Every arrangement is recorded in writing, reviewed by independent legal counsel, and signed by legitimate traditional authorities.
Where structures are created, communities and the Royal Establishment hold meaningful equity and governance seats — not spectators' roles.
We do not acquire land occupied or used by families. Settlements, grave sites, sacred groves and active farmland are excluded by design.
