Patient M had a quarter hectare of land and no tools. He grew enough to feed his family for eight months, then ran out.
Through 2,000 Hectares of Hope, he received training in conservation farming, quality seed and fertiliser. He also learned about market linkage.
His first harvest produced 2.4 tonnes of maize. He fed his family for the full year and sold the surplus to three neighbours who had nothing.
